The minimum speed needed for an object to escape from the gravitational influence of a massive body.
“People Leave”, “People are temporary”, “Nobody stays forever”. These are all phrases that have been repeated over and over again. It is often sickening to think that before anything starts people are thinking of how it will end. Why don’t people live in the moment, why do they overthink the past and the future. The idea that everybody leaves is fueled by the notion that everybody dies suddenly. Yes sometimes it is more apparent when people are about to go then other times, but death is sudden in most cases. It is often because of this that people fear to invest in people because they could be gone tomorrow. They could just be gone. I have seen myself, and my peers enter a similar pattern. They have already labelled people as people that will be gone soon. No friendship is one without a doubt that this person will leave your side.
Is the fear of death so extreme that it affects your ability to trust? I am not saying people won’t leave without death playing a part. They might, but often people don’t pursue people because they have let people die in their minds before it even happens. They let distance end friendships, they let their time define how close they can get to a person. They are so fearful of the person dying that they forget to live in that moment while they have them there with them. It is how friendships never are really as close as they can be, why love is not as deep as it could be, its why we believe people are as shallow as we are. Because we are all scared to love because we fear being let down. The sad part about this is that you are losing more by not living in that moment then you ever will if that person leaves.
